WORSLEY, Charles (aft.1671-1739), of the Middle Temple, London.

Returned for Newtown as a Tory in 1722 on the family interest, Charles Worsley, a practising lawyer, spoke on 16 Oct. 1722 against the bill to suspend the Habeas Corpus Act for a year. In 1723 he was made agent for Barbados,L. M. Penson, Col. Agents of British W. Indies, 250. no doubt on the recommendation of the governor, his cousin, Henry Worsley. He was the author of ‘Master Worsley’s Book’ on the history and constitution of the Middle Temple. He did not stand again, and died 28 Aug.1739.
