Returned unopposed for Westmorland, Edward Wilson, like his father, was classed as a government supporter. He did not stand in 1754, but stood unsuccessfully in 1761 ‘to support the independency of the county’.B. Bonsall, Cumb, and Westmld. Elections, 55-56. He died in 1764.
