The Public Ledger wrote of Lord George Augustus Henry in 1779, in a long and eulogistic notice: ‘As a senator ... he is distinguished only for the known sincerity of his intentions’—which seems a fair summary of his career. Only two speeches by him are recorded before 1790: on 15 Mar. 1782 he seconded Rous’s motion of no confidence in North’s Administration; and on 12 Nov. 1783 moved an address of congratulation on the birth of a princess.
He died 4 May 1834.
