Like many of the men commissioned to raise loans to shore up Henry VI’s perennially cash-strapped administration, Frowyk also had to contribute himself. Thus, in February 1429 he was among a group of Middlesex men (which also included Henry Somer* and Robert Warner*) that lent the Crown a less than impressive total sum of just £94.3 E401/720, m. 30.
In June 1442 Frowyk was one of several property-owners in the parish of St. Giles without Cripplegate whose holdings fell victim to a band of rioters purportedly led by the (subsequently exonerated) local brewer William Asplond.4 KB27/726, rex rot. 27d.
