The earlier biography failed to identify this MP,1 The Commons 1386-1421, iv. 228. but a trace of him has since been found in the records of the court of common pleas. In the Michaelmas term of 1422 Richard Dammer* of Shoreham sued Roger and a local baker for a debt of £2. The MP was described in the suit, perhaps disparagingly, as a husbandman.2 CP40/647, rot. 102d.
