In 1713 Paul Foley, a Tory, was returned for Aldborough by the dowager Duchess of Newcastle. Returned for Weobley in 1715, he was unseated on petition. In 1727 he canvassed Weobley but, though ‘worth above £60,000’,1Chandos to Walpole, 9 Aug. 1727, Chandos letter bks. declined before the poll. Again unsuccessful at Weobley in 1732, he died 28 Nov. 1739.
