Galway [I] 15 July 1751; to estates of his maternal aunt, Lady Frances Arundell of Allerton Mauleverer 1769, and took add. name of Arundell.

Succeeding to the family seat at Pontefract in 1747, Monckton was classed as a government supporter. Vacating his seat in favour of his father by temporarily accepting an office in 1748, he was returned next year for Thirsk on the Frankland interest.

He died 18 Nov. 1772.
