STONHOUSE, Sir John, 3rd Bt. (?1672-1733), of Radley, Berks.

Descended from a court official, who purchased Radley in 1560,1VCH Berks. iv. 412. Stonhouse represented his county as a Tory for over thirty years, voting after 1715 against the Government in most recorded divisions, but being twice taken into custody by the serjeant at arms for defaulting in a call of the House.2CJ, xix. 61; xxi. 375. In 1721 his name was sent to the Pretender as a probable supporter in the event of a rising.3Stuart mss 65/16. He died 10 Oct. 1733.
