Purslow may have owed his return at Morpeth to his fellow Inner Templar John Eltoftes, with whom he had represented Appleby in 1558. Purslow made his will 5 July 1563, and died on 8 Aug. His widow resided at Billingsley after his death, near Sidbury, but it is not known whether Purslow himself had a Shropshire seat. His father outlived him by some eight years.1Trans. Salop Arch. Soc.
