biography text

Wythe, a lawyer, represented Droitwich from its enfranchisement in 1554 to the end of the 1563 Parliament, although he was absent for most of the session in 1563, being licensed on 20 Feb. to depart ‘for his necessary affairs’. By 1577 he had estates as far afield as Wales and Middlesex. He left his property to his brother and executor, with instructions to make their sister an allowance and employ the rest of the income for the advancement of her children and himself. Wythe died 24 Dec. 1586, aged 63, and was buried at Droitwich.2VCH Worcs. iii. 86; Vis. Worcs. (Harl. Soc. xxvii), 150; Cal. I.T. Recs. i. 159; Masters of the Bench of the I.
