biography text
Avery was probably a Weymouth man. Certainly, he witnessed a deed there in April 1392, only a few months before his return to Parliament for the borough. Nothing more is known of him.1C146/1134. He may have been related to Geoffrey Avery, royal ranger of the warren of Purbeck in 1389, and Ralph Avery, alnager of Dorset in 1420; CPR, 1388-92, p. 12; CFR, xiv. 342.
