biography text
Barber is not mentioned in the few detailed Dunwich court rolls which have survived for this period, but as he attested the parliamentary return for May 1421 as coroner of the town, he probably lived there. His putative kinsman William Barber was elected on that occasion and was holding office as bailiff later in the year, when in that capacity he returned Nicholas to his last Parliament.1C219/12/5.
