Although he came from a family which provided Reigate with four MPs during the period under review, very little is known about this Member. He may well have been the brother of Roger Chaunce I, who sat for Reigate in at least five Parliaments, including that of January 1380, when he named John I as his mainpernor.1C219/8/4.
