Chinting’s name was derived from the district forming the eastern portion of the parish of Seaford. He was probably descended from Philip Chinting (fl.1296) of Seaford, and may have been the son of John Chinting, who witnessed a deed there in 1367. In April 1400, a few months after his last Parliament, Chinting attested a conveyance of property in Seaford, on behalf of John Hogg, a former companion in the Commons.1Suss. Arch.
