Unidentified.1It may be conjectured that the Member in 1407 was in fact John Clerk, a merchant and grocer who became a freeman of Exeter in 1387, served as a steward of the city in 1414-15 and 1417-18 and in other years was a member of the council of 12. He died in 1426. (Exeter City RO, mayors’ ct. rolls 11-12 Ric. II m. 5, 4-5 Hen. VI m. 28.)
