  • 1. N. Bacon, Annalls of Ipswiche ed. Richardson, 88–89.
  • 2. C219/10/6. A John Felbrigg of Suff. took out royal letters of protection in July 1417 as embarking in the retinue of Richard, Lord Grey of Wilton, for service in France: DKR, xliv. 598. This was probably John, s. of Sir George Felbrigg (d.1400) of Playford by his 2nd w. Margaret Aspal (d.1419), an obscure figure who was not mentioned in the wills of either parent yet who apparently inherited their estates, married into the important family of Waldegrave, and was knighted before making his will on 2 Oct. 1423. His heir was his only da. Margery, w. of Thomas Sampson of Brettenham: Add. 19129, ff. 92-96; Procs. Suff. Inst. Arch. iv. 20-25; F. Blomefield, Norf. viii. 108-12; Norf. RO, Norwich Liber 8, f. 153.
