biography text
During the Michaelmas term of 1420 a John Knight and his wife, Joan, made a conveyance of two messuages and land in the Surrey manor of Wandsworth to purchasers or feoffees. It is by no means certain, however, that this man was the former MP for Reigate, who witnessed a local deed in 1427 and who probably had few connexions outside the borough.1CP25(1)232/69/37; CCR, 1429-36, p. 106.
