LOND, Thomas.

Lond, an obscure figure, probably owed his election to Parliament for Lyme to his connexion with the Brooke family of Holditch, Dorset, who were influential in the town. In 1414 and 1415 he was enfeoffed by Sir Thomas Brooke of his estates in Somerset, Dorset and Devon, for the purposes of effecting an entail. At the time of his return for Lyme the custody of the borough was in the hands of Brooke’s widow.1Som. Feet of Fines (Som. Rec. Soc. xxii), 175; CCR, 1413-19, pp. 479-81.
