Smith served on the jury at Arundel for the inquisition post mortem on Thomas, earl of Arundel, held on 22 Oct. 1415. He appeared as a witness to a conveyance of property at Upwaltham, a few miles away, in May 1417.1C138/23/54; West Suss. RO, add. ms 12308.
