Returned on his father’s interest for Truro at both elections of 1679, Boscawen was classed as ‘honest’ by Shaftesbury, appointed to the committee of elections and privileges, and voted for the first exclusion bill. He no doubt continued to support exclusion in the second Exclusion Parliament, but no committees can be definitely ascribed to him, and he died of smallpox on 21 Nov. 1680.
