For twenty years Earle represented Malmesbury jointly with his father. A staunch government supporter, he was given a post in the Ordnance, which he retained after Walpole’s fall. Defeated at Malmesbury in 1747, he was successful at Cricklade, continuing to support the Administration. Resigning from the Ordnance in 1772, he died 10 Aug. 1774.
