Thomas Foley was returned as a Tory by his cousin, the 2nd Lord Foley, in succession to Edward Foley, voting consistently against the Administration. At the 1747 election he was again returned but was unseated on petition. In the 2nd Lord Egmont’s electoral survey, c.1749-50, he is described as a likely candidate at either Leominster or Weobley, ‘having a fair character in the county’. He died 18 Nov. 1777.
