biography text

Henry was probably a relation of Robert Bont, MP for Salisbury in 1360, 1361, 1363 and 1372. He himself frequently stood surety for the attendance in Parliament of Wilton’s representatives, doing so on behalf of John Stone in 1362 and 1380, Henry Haversham and John Coke in 1372, and Adam Daubeney in 1384 and 1385. In November 1376 he had sat as a juror at an inquisition held at Wilton, and in April 1387 he was to witness a deed there.1C219/7/14, 23, 8/4, 11, 9/1; Wilts. IPM Edw. III (Brit. Rec. Soc.
