BREMDON, John, of Hele in Hurdwick, Devon.

In 1383 Bremdon inherited from his father property known as ‘Fynyanysland’ at Hele and Woodovis within the lordship of Hurdwick, which belonged to Tavistock abbey. He died before 1417 when Thomas Bremdon, described as ‘of Brendon, Cornwall’ , forfeited the same modest estate to the Crown following his outlawry for felony.1Devon RO, Bedford mss, D2/62, 65; CCR, 1422-9, p. 371; 1447-54, p. 18.
