biography text
Save for his one return to Parliament and two terms as bailiff of Stafford, comparatively little is known of this obscure figure, who must none the less have possessed considerable local influence. In October 1428 he attended the court of the bailiffs of Stafford to give evidence before the royal commissioners appointed to assess taxes in the county, and in September 1435 he was present at the Staffordshire parliamentary elections.2Feudal Aids, v. 19; C219/14/5.
