FLEMING, John, of Rochester, Kent.

Fleming was assessed for the poll tax of 1377 (of which he himself was a collector) as living in Rochester. At the assizes held at Maidstone in February 1379 he was fined for forcibly dispossessing a certain London citizen of a plot of land in Rochester. In July 1391 he went surety that Henry Horne would keep the peace; and in the following year he joined John Sheldwich I of Canterbury and others in acquiring two royal licences to make grants of property in Faversham and elsewhere in east Kent and in London to Christ Church priory.
