HASELHURST, John, of Horsham, Suss.

In association with Walter Urry and Henry Boteler II of Horsham, Haselhurst appeared from July 1423 as co-recipient of an annual rent from land at Shipley, Sussex. Two years later he took on the enfeoffment of property in Horsham by demise of John Rowdry, chaplain, and on occasion he witnessed deeds in the town. He sat on a jury giving evidence at Bramber in October 1426 about certain holdings pertaining to John Mowbray, duke of Norfolk, the lord of Horsham. Haselhurst is last recorded in February 1437, when he entered into a bond in £7 6s.8d. to William Leycester of London, a skinner by trade, like himself.1Add. Ch. 8870; Bodl. Ch. Suss. 152; Cat.
