The different spellings of Lovyn’s name pose problems of identification, but it seems likely that he was related to John Bony who sat for Launceston in 1377 (Oct.), and that it was he who, as Richard Bony, stood surety for Roger Trewythenick and John Breton I on the occasion of their election to Parliament for Helston and Lostwithiel, respectively, in 1386. As Richard Lonyn, in 1406 he brought an action in the King’s bench, suing a man from Callington for trespass.1C219/9/1; KB27/581 m. 67d.
