This John was perhaps the son of (or conceivably the same person as) John Prentice I, the MP of 1386. In March 1414 he was distrained to serve on the jury at inquiries held in Derby about lollards, but was not picked in the event.2KB9/204/1 m. 78. He is not to be identified with the John Prentice who, a Loughborough baker, held property in Derby in 1431 worth £4 p.a.: Feudal Aids, i. 278.
