Robust was returned to Parliament for the second time during his single known tenure of the office of bailiff of Portsmouth. He attended the borough elections on several occasions, providing securities for the appearance in the Commons of John le Bound in 1378, Adam White in 1381, William Bristowe and Thomas Baret in 1385, and Richard Gay in 1388. An indictment presented by a Portsmouth jury to the King’s bench sitting at Winchester in the Hilary term of 1393, stated that at Portsea in June 1392 Robust’s servant, John Harper, had been viciously attacked by the vicar of Portsmouth church.2C219/8/2, 5, 12, 9/5; KB9/108 m. 38.
