Taverner witnessed a deed at Rochester in May 1401. Early in 1405 he was employed by the sheriff of Kent to deliver a summons to William Swinburne, requiring his appearance in Chancery. His wife had inherited a messuage and lands to the south of Rochester, at East Malling, which, however, the couple sold in 1411.1Arch. Cant. xxi. 315; CPR, 1401-5, p. 494; CP25(1)112/275/539.
