COOK, Thomas I, of Marlborough, Wilts.

In August 1390 Cook was granted for life by Thomas Calston a tenement on ‘Le Grene’ at Marlborough, and was still holding it in 1412. Meanwhile, in 1406, he had stood surety with John Jenewyne for the parliamentary attendance of Nicholas Tympeneye.CAD, i. C340; iii. C3575; C219/10/3. He was possibly the father of William Cook, mayor of Marlborough in 1425-6, who was returned while in office to the Parliament of 1426.CAD, ii. C2603.
