GUNNE, John.

No man of this name appears in the surviving records of Totnes. It is possible that the MP, the John Gune who in 1394 (on behalf of the sheriff of Devon) summoned the parties involved in a suit in the common pleas to attend the court, and the John Gune who was active as attorney at the Exeter assizes in 1399, were all one and the same.Yr. There is less likelihood that he was the John Gunne who in 1429, on the occasion of his betrothal to Thomasina Druwe, acquired lands in Teignmouth, Coombe and Higher Holcombe.CP25(1)46/81/62.
