Hobart sat for Norwich on his family interest. He was a Government supporter, and one speech of his is recorded during the two years he sat in the Parliament of 1754: in support of the motion for Hanoverian troops, 29 Mar. 1756.1Newdigate’s ‘Debates’.
A picture of his personality, not altogether favourable, emerges from his letters to his brother-in-law, Charles Hotham, in the Hotham papers. He died 3 Sept. 1793.
