biography text
Descended from a wealthy London family, who had purchased estates in Warwickshire and Berkshire during the seventeenth century, William Craven was returned unopposed as a Tory for the county. He is not known to have spoken nor is any vote of his recorded. The 2nd Lord Egmont notes in his electoral survey, c.1749-50, that he ‘will probably be with us for a time’.
He died 17 Mar. 1769.
