Not originally a Wallingford man, Brugge paid a fine of 13s.4d. in 1383 for the right to trade in the town. In the following year he was elected bailiff, and in 1387 served on a local jury inquiring into the estates of the honour of Wallingford. The last notice of him occurs in 1394 when, at a view of frankpledge, he was amerced for an assault on Robert Oxenford.2Ibid. W/JBb/39, 40, 53; C260/100/48 m. 169.
